Beginning in 2018, sneaker boutique Boston Concepts and NBA All-Star Kyrie Irving have teamed up numerous times to collaborate on his signature Nike basketball shoes. Along with their list of projects, we now have a first look at what the duo are up to next.
Images of Concepts x Nike Kyrie 7 products have surfaced this week. The collaboration wears a predominantly Blue color scheme with Teal covering the majority of the upper, while Light Blue decorates the co-branded tongue and laces. Sticking with the Ancient Egypt theme featured on their collaborative Kyrie 5 and Kyrie 6 releases is a large “Eye of Ra” symbol debossed on the medial side, while a gold wing-shaped Swoosh is featured on the side part. Concepts branding is also applied to the heel while a brightly colored Orange midsole completes the look.
While official Concepts x Nike Kyrie 7 images have leaked, release details for the collaboration have yet to be announced by the brands.
UPDATE (05/03): It’s been months since images of Concepts’ new Nike Kyrie 7 collaboration first surfaced and now we’re finally learning more about the project. According to the store, the Concepts x Kyrie 7’s “Horus” vibrant teal hues reference ancient Egyptian glazed ceramics, while ancient Egyptian symbols appear on the forefoot bands, heel counter and the Swoosh. To complete the look, orange tooling inspired the look of the desert sands before nightfall. The “Horus” Concepts x Kyrie 7 will be released Friday, May 7 at 11 a.m. ET exclusively on Cncpts.com and at Concepts Boston, Concepts New York and Concepts Dubai for $150.
UPDATE (05/10): After an exclusive release at Concepts last week, Nike confirms the Kyrie 7 “Horus” is releasing again via SNKRS on May 19 for $130.
