After a year of delay, the Tokyo Olympics are finally close. This means that Nike, among others, can release all the releases they had planned and then some. Among the upcoming new releases, the brand is bringing the focus back to cosmic unity, dressing the basketball silhouette in element-inspired colorways.
This pair kicks us off with the boldest scheme of the four. Reds burn throughout the upper – collar, profile, even midsole – alluding to fire in an overt way. The tongues and laces see collateral damage, as do the adjoining pull-ups, while the eye-hold and outsole narrowly avoid danger as they only sport a light pink hue. Elsewhere, hits of volt dot the laces, grayed-out synthetic forms the brand’s crest, and equally neutral marbling creates a smoky effect along the Swoosh.
