It was around this time last year that the Nike KD 13 was officially unveiled, and it looks like a similar timeline will be used for the next installment of Kevin Durant’s signature sneaker line.
Ahead of an official reveal, product images of the Nike KD 14 have surfaced online. Fans of older models in the line will be delighted to know Durant’s 14e The shoe includes the return of a midfoot support strap, a feature not seen since 2014’s KD 7. Further technical specifications were not disclosed, but images show what appears to be full-length Zoom Air cushioning. As for the colorway, the first pair to leak uses an animal print upper in black, white, and brown.
Although a release date has not been confirmed by the brand, the model is marked for an April 17 release at retailers in a black and red colorway. Check back in the coming days for updates on the Nike KD 14.
UPDATE (04/10): Nike has officially unveiled Durant’s 14e signature basketball shoe, the KD 14. The shoe’s most notable feature is the midfoot cross strap, which has been absent from its line since the KD 7. Another key element of the shoe’s design is the full-length Zoom Air Strobel. underfoot offering responsiveness on the court.
“It’s been a while since we’ve incorporated the strap, which excites me,” Durant says. “My other favorite part of the shoe is the cushioning, which helps me feel low to the ground and always helps give me some of that energy back.”
The Nike KD 14 will release worldwide in the black and white colorway starting today on Nike.com and at Nike Basketball retailers and in North America on April 14th. The “Cyber colorway” will be released exclusively in Greater China on April 11.
